EFFECTIVE JULY 29, 2021 - Masks Required in City Buildings for Vaccinated and Unvaccinated, Per CDC

The updated guidance from the federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is recommending that in areas of higher transmission (such as in Maricopa County) masks should be used in indoor settings by both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals. With this in mind, beginning Thursday July 29th, the City of Peoria will be requiring all city employees and visitors to wear masks inside city buildings. This applies to both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals.

Peoria continues to closely monitor infection rates, and follow the health and safety recommendations offered by public health officials. As a reminder, please stay home if you are symptomatic, maintain social distancing, and wash your hands regularly. For more information on vaccination sites, testing locations and health and safety measures, visit

Peoria Main Library Construction - Summer of 2021

Beginning Jun. 14, 2021, the Peoria Main Library will be undergoing renovations over the summer and into early fall. The building will remain open for its normal operating hours, though during the construction certain sections may need to be closed off to accommodate the work being done. We are very excited for all the refresh will bring to the building and our patrons, and also sincerely apologize for any inconvenience during this process. Please call (623) 773-7555 with any questions or concerns. Please check in on our Facebook page for updates throughout the summer.

Parking will be reduced as construction equipment and materials will be fenced off at both the Main Library and Council Chambers parking lots. Parking continues to be available on both levels of the parking garage to the south of the library. We apologize for this additional inconvenience. Please contact the Main Library at (623) 773-7555 with any questions or concerns.
