  • Presentation Topics Include: Creating and Selling Your Own Board Games, Podcasting in the Comics World, Manga 101, Sewing Cosplay Costumes, Comics in the Classroom, Cosplay Makeup and much more!

    Kiddie Costume Parade @ 11:45 a.m.

National Poetry Month Contest

April is National Poetry Month! To celebrate, we are having a poetry contest. Submit your original poem creation by Apr. 30 at the Adult Reference desk on the 2nd floor for a chance to win a Barnes & Noble gift card! For ages 12 and up only please. Professional poets are not eligible. Inquire at the Adult Reference Desk for more information. The winner will be selected based on the best poem.

Health and safety data only exists for 15% of all the chemicals out there! Essential oils are a better way, and you need them in your home as part of a simple, chemical-free lifestyle. Come learn in an informative class how you can begin to ditch the toxins!

Master Gardener volunteers from the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension in Maricopa County will be available to answer your desert gardening questions, including but not limited to plant selection, irrigation, fertilization, pruning techniques, pest management and problem diagnosis. You can bring plant material or insect specimens for ID and advice

Free Practice Driving Tests and Materials

Library: Peoria Main & Sunrise Mountain Libraries

Peoria Public Libraries in partnership with Driving-Tests.org, a company dedicated to driver safety and education, offers free Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) practice tests to library patrons. The service includes free tests specifically based on the state’s DMV materials. It is the only site of its kind to include accessibility tools that let users hear selections read aloud, make them into MP3s, translate pages into other languages, magnify text, and mask portions of the screen for greater visibility on the practice tests.
