Peoria Public Library Phased Reopening

Library: Peoria Main & Sunrise Mountain Libraries
Date: Phase 2: Monday, Sept. 28, until further notice.

In response to a continued decline in COVID-19 cases across Maricopa County, the city of Peoria is proceeding with Phase Two of the city’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan, which will expand facility access and related programming beginning Sept. 28. Since May 18, the city has been operating in Phase One with stringent sanitation, physical distancing and facial mask protocols. Starting Monday, Sept. 28, Phase Two allows for further easing of restrictions with the use of amenities available to our citizens.

Peoria Public Libraries offer limited services, browsing, public computers, internet access and curbside pick-up of reserved books. Patron time in the buildings will be limited to 30 minutes with no exceptions and will operate with social distancing protocols, enhanced cleaning frequencies and service-point protection barriers in place.

Do You See What I See? - Implicit Bias For Better or Worse.

Library: Virtual
Date: Monday, Feb. 22
Time: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

We come from different places and backgrounds. Our life experiences and backgrounds can affect the way we see the world and each other, for better or worse. What is implicit bias, and how does it shape our attitudes and actions towards others? How do stereotypes affect our understanding, actions, and decisions? “Implicit bias” can cause us to have feelings and attitudes about other people based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, age, ability, and appearance. How can we learn to navigate the world as seen through the eyes of people different from us? How can we share what we have learned with people at home, at work, and in the communities we live in? Presented by Rory Gilbert, Rory Gilbert LLC.

This Lecture is exclusively online through Zoom and Registration required. Sign up with your email at https://tinyurl.com/y2klxfmk. An email with a link to the event will be sent to you the day of the event.
